Chief instructor at DuPont dojo (DC) as well as the Bulgarian Saturday School in Fairfax, VA. Assistant instructor for Capital Kyokushin-kan (Palisades dojo). First introduced to martial arts in the Bulgarian AirForce Academy 1980. After a year of Shotokan training, continued with Kyokushin karate, as well as specialized army combat techniques. Led the academy team to the newly established Airforce Championship in 1984 and won the first place individually and for the team. In the late eighties, due to some injuries and life changes, stopped active training for over 20 years.Luckily, after a long break, found his way to a kyokushin dojo and a new beginning in karate. Participated in Capital Sabaki tournaments 2008, 2009, and took third place in heavy weight semi-contact 2008. In 2013 won the Phoenix kumite tournament in heavy weight. Successfully tested for Nidan (2nd degree black belt) at the summer gashuku 2017. Participated in IFK All American Championships 2018 full contact. Summer 2019 joined Kyokushin-kan as the organization's philosophy and vision are in-line with sempai's own philosophy and goals for the dojo. Sempai Sogyel
